Beschreibung
Dr. Abel Sepúlveda is a researcher and lecturer at ETH Zurich, where he leads the Human-centric Metric for Sunlight Exposure (HUMES) project within the Daylight Integration Nexus (DINx) research initiative. His work explores how building occupants perceive and experience sunlight across different cultural and climatic contexts, with the aim of developing more reliable human-centred approaches to building design. Sunlight plays a fundamental role in health, well-being, architecture, and energy performance. Yet, despite decades of building research, our understanding of how occupants perceive and value sunlight remains limited. This talk examines the current approaches used to assess sunlight in buildings and discusses their limitations from a human perspective.
